School Timeline

1st-4th Grade

5th-8th Grade

9th-11th Grade

My decision to start homeschooling all those years ago was about wanting to be with my siblings. During this time we tried a lot of different curriculums to try to find what worked for me. We also did a lot of hands on group things between my siblings and I, like raising monarch butterflies and learned about Ancient Egyptians, what they ate, and how to write hieroglyphs. Our local librarian put on weekly meetings for homeschoolers, where she invited guest speakers, set up projects for us to do, and we would have field trips with the kids that also went. One fieldtrip I remember was when we went to a bee farm and learned about how bees pollenate, make honey, and how they raise their queen. This was also around the time I found my love for reading.

Fifth grade was the first of my two jaunts into public school, where I did pretty good. Immediately following that we went on a multiple month long road trip where we visited a ton of different state parks, ghost towns, beaches, and loads of other really cool places. Sixth grade was learning about critical thinking and skills we could use  in our adult day to day lives. The summer after sixth grade I did a zoofari program where I learned about what went on behind the scenes, like I helped clean some pens, learned the animals diets and helped prepare them, and the good that some zoos do to provide homes for animals that cant go back into the wild. Seventh grade was my second jaunt into public school and it went much less successfully due to other students, I made it about halfway through the school year before I went back to homeschool and started my eighth grade year because that was the curriculum we had on hand.

This is the start of me really finding my interests school wise and also my start of working with Shauna. All three of these past years were very focused on history with ninth grade being prehistoric and this year covering up to global population hitting seven billion. It was during this time that I found that I was super interested in learning about past humans cultures and their religions. In tenth grade I started working with Pacific Sands Academy as my mom was getting busier and couldn't go through our school with us as often as she liked. My time working with Shauna has been when I figured out most of my interests school wise and the way the way I learned best, which is by reading books. See my booklist

I'm glad I've gotten to experience so many different types of learning and I'm grateful to everyone who has supported me through the years and are supporting me as I graduate early and move on to hopefully bigger and better things.
